New Mexico - Black Bear Hunting

We are happy to announce the addition of black bear hunting with hounds in the Sacramento Mountains of central New Mexico. Black bears are abundant in the area, but to consistently kill bears here, good dogs are necessary.

We are working with a local guide and houndsman, Andrew McWilliams, to offer guided black bear hunting.  Andrew has superior dry-land hounds who consistently put bears in the trees. Getting to the trees is going to be your challenge. If you're thinking, "How hard can it be?" Then you've never chased bears with hounds in the Sacramentos!

A typical day will involve covering ground with the dogs searching for a fresh scent. Once the dogs are released, the fun begins. Plan on an exciting day from there.

This hunt is physically demanding. You will earn a bear, for sure.

We will take only two bear hunters for the 2010 season. These hunts will be virtual certain success if you will be persistent. Essentially, we will hunt until you get a bear.

Accommodations will be in our lodge. All meals are included.
